CMC – (Jamaica) Police are investigating the death of a 15 year old secondary school student after he was shot by his father, who mistook him for an intruder entering his home in St. Catherine, during the early hours on Wednesday.
Police said that the 51 year old father had reported hearing the front door being opened and discharged three rounds from his licensed firearm, after his wife had woken him up upon hearing the front gate and grille to the premises being opened.
The Wolmer’s Boys’ School student was taken to the Spanish Town Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
The father’s licensed firearm was seized by the police.
