St. Vincent and the Grenadines has assumed presidency of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC).
SVG is the first CARICOM state to be elected to the position.
Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves, speaking at the now concluded 7th Leaders’ Summit of CELAC in Argentina, expressed gratitude for the unanimous support given to his country.
Tuesday saw the transfer of the rotating presidency of the 33 member bloc from Argentina’s President to Dr. Gonsalves.
He says CELAC is a unique integration movement that has to be built, and shared insight into the outcome of discussions held during the summit.
