The Flash Flood Warning has been extended for the entire island.
Earlier today, a warning had been issued for northern and eastern districts.
A Flash Flood Warning in this case is issued when rapid flooding due to excessive rainfall in a short period of time (generally less than 6hours) is occurring or is imminent in the warning area.
The Barbados Meteorological Services (BMS) says unstable conditions, due to the presence of a low-level trough system, are affecting the island. Activity associated with this feature is now expected to spread across the entire island, generating overcast skies, heavy downpours, and possible thunderstorms today.
So far an inch of rainfall was recorded in the Speightstown area, and further accumulations of 1 to 3 inches are expected across Barbados.
The BMS says this alert will be terminated at 6:00 p.m. or sooner if conditions warrant.
