Barbados continues to be under Severe Thunderstorm Watch.
It is issued when significant lightning activity is possible within the watch area (generally within 6 hours).
Occasional light wind activity associated with scattered thunderstorms continued throughout the morning. There is the possibility of further thunderstorm activity during the afternoon.
The Met Office says that people should expect some lightning activity in the near future or near their location and the increased likelihood of power outages if lightning strikes power utility infrastructure.
This alert message is valid from noon today, Monday 26 September 2022 and will be updated at 6 pm or sooner if conditions warrant.
