South Africa has made two changes to their squad set-up in between the ongoing tour by West Indies.
Aiden Markram has been appointed South Africa’s new T20 international captain, while cricket South Africa has roped-in J.P Duminy as the batting coach and Rory Kleinveldt as the bowling coach in the white-ball set-up.
Markram takes over the captaincy from Temba Bavuma, who has been dropped from the squad altogether for the upcoming home T20s against West Indies later this month.
Duminy has been appointed on a permanent basis whereas Kleinveldt has come in only for the West Indies series for now.
Talks between new white-ball coach, Rob Walter, and former captain Faf du Plessis meanwhile proved unfruitful for now, and du Plessis has not been included in the t20 squad. This, however, could change in the future.
