Consistent rain has forced the first one-day international between West Indies and hosts South Africa to be abandoned without a ball being bowled.
The second ODI is set for Saturday, as both teams hope the rain stays away.
The sides are seeking a winning formula at what is the beginning of a crucial period in the lead-up to the Cricket World Cup in India in October and November.
