Cricketer Chris Gayle will be leaving the Indian Premier League’s bio-secure bubble due to bubble fatigue.
Having arrived in the UAE recently from the Caribbean Premier League bubble to play for Punjab Kings in the IPL, Gayle says he is looking to mentally refresh himself ahead of the T20 World Cup next month.
Gayle has played 37 T20 matches in 2021, which have come for four teams – West Indies, St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots, Quetta Gladiators, and the Kings.
The 42 year old played in two of the Kings’ three matches since the IPL resumed in the UAE.
Gayle is expected to be in Dubai before joining the West Indies squad for the World Cup that begins on October 17th.
