July 27th, 2022

The first ever Africa-Caribbean Trade and Investment Forum will be held by the Government of Barbados and the African Export-Import Bank – Afreximbank from August 31st to September 3rd, 2022 in Barbados.

ACTIF2022 will be held under the theme “One People, One Destiny: Uniting and Re-imagining Our Future”.

The forum aims to foster the development of strategic partnerships between the business communities in Africa and the Caribbean, to bolster bilateral cooperation and increase engagement.

Additionally, ACTIF2022 is expected to contribute to the implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Agreement – ACFTA – and the Caribbean Trade Development Agenda, further reflecting the deep-rooted ties between Africa and the Caribbean.

ACTIF2022 is being co-managed by Invest Barbados and Export Barbados and Chief Executive Officer of Invest Barbados Kaye Greenidge told CBC News they are looking at 700 plus participants from Africa and over 200 from the Caribbean.

She added that the forum would provide lots of additional business for locals given the numbers in attendance and it also served as an excellent tourism promotion for Barbados as a destination.
