Agrofest 2022 is ready for its official launch this evening.

The leaders from Barbados and Guyana are expected to address the opening ceremony, for what is being billed as perhaps the biggest agricultural festival to be held in this island.

CBC caught up with Chief Executive Officer of the Barbados Agricultural Society, James Paul in Queen’s Park this morning. At that time, vendors were moving in and the last minute decorating and painting were being done by sponsors and exhibitors, who will bring the agri expo under the theme ‘Greening Together – Ah Caribbean Ting.

In addition to the local products, it will feature a number of goods from Guyana and Suriname.

Mr. Paul says they are excited about the event.

One of the highlights at this year’s Agrofest will be the show house made of Guyanese lumber but done by local artisans with the National Housing Corporation.

CBC also caught up with Head of Special Projects at NHC David Padmore.

Along with wooden products Guyana also has a range of fibreglass products.
