Students at Grantley Adams Memorial and the residents of the parish of St. Joseph by extension, will in short order benefit from the soon-to-be restored Blackman’s Slave Hospital.
The works for the building, situated on the compound of the Grantley Adams Memorial School, are estimated to cost at least hundreds of thousands dollars.
Parliamentary Representative for St. Joseph, Dale Marshall supports the move as he notes it will enhance community tourism and the parish’s story.
Several partners including historic building specialists, M. Womersleys Ltd. from the United Kingdom, are onboard for the venture.
Director Mark Womersley, has been ensuring young Barbadian skilled workers learn the art of restoration.
