The Barbados Light and Power Company (BLPC) has described as “misleading” a report from the Barbados Water Authority (BWA) that there was an island-wide power outage early Tuesday 22 February which affected operations at their Ionics Desalination Plant.
The Power Company in a statement says there was not an island-wide power outage and was concerned by the BWA’s report.
The BLPC commented on the initial post by the BWA, which warned residents in a number of communities in St James and St Thomas to brace for low water pressure or an outage. The BWA has since explained in a subsequent post that their facilities were affected by “an electrical glitch”.
