Deputy Prime Minister, Santia Bradshaw believes a multidisciplinary and all hands approach is needed to help save Barbadian youth.
She has welcomed the intervention of organisations that seek to assist.
One such non-governmental organisation, Supreme Counseling for Personal Development launched its Community Assistance Programme (CAP), taking its programmes from its main office into the community.
It was launched at the Golden Rock Community Centre and will benefit residents of neighbouring communities including Pine and Wildey.
The programme is also ongoing at the St. Mary’s Primary and Princess Margaret Schools.
Ms. Bradshaw says a good foundation must be provided for the youth as schools and households cannot do it alone.
Chief Executive Officer of Supreme Counselling for Personal Development, Shawn Clarke says phase one of CAP will see communities being introduced to services including anger management, conflict resolution and critical thinking.
