Farley Hill National Park transforms into outdoor classroom

May 26th, 2022

The Farley Hill National Park was transformed into a temporary classroom, as scores of students from four schools celebrated Africa Day on Wednesday.

Government’s Special Advisor on Culture and Heritage, Senator John King, was also on hand for the event.

He explains it meshes with the mandate of the Division of Culture.

In keeping with African storytelling tradition under the trees, the Barbados National Library Service hosted its story hour at the location.

Primary school pupils from St Mary’s, Roland Edwards, Wilkie Cumberbatch and All Saints were seen sitting on blankets listening to the proceedings.

Both teachers and students welcomed the initiative.
