Local investors will soon be able to look at the prospectus for the Guyana/Barbados food terminal and state-of-the-art abattoir to go up at Lears, St Michael.
That is according to Minister of Agriculture, Food and Nutritional Security, Indar Weir.
The terminal is coming on stream under the Saint Barnabas Accord signed between Barbados and Guyana in July this year.
The agreement for co-operation between the two Caribbean Community countries is focused on nine areas, with agriculture, aquaculture and food security being top priorities.
The multi-million dollar food terminal will house produce from Guyana for local sale and export, and is expected to save Barbados foreign exchange and reduce the cost of food here.
