Joel Hope remembered

Residents of The Pine, St. Michael came out in their numbers on Saturday night, to remember the life of one of their own who was recently killed.

Family and friends of Joel Hope held a candlelight vigil in her memory, just over a week after the mother of four was stabbed on her 26th birthday in the Pine Basin where she worked.

Children to adults came out with their candles, as they walked through the neighbourhood, prayed and looked at old pictures of the young woman.

Among them, Hope’s children, all of whom are under the age of ten.

Theresa Small, the grandmother of Hope’s second child, spoke during the vigil.
