COVID-19 has negatively impacted those with heart problems by creating additional fear and anxiety, leading to strokes and heart attacks.
Consultant Cardiologist with the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and also with the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Dr. Dawn Scantlebury says they have been seeing increased cases of heart conditions.
The doctor explains some of the fear factors heart disease patients have as far as COVID is concerned.
As Barbados observes World Heart Day, Chief Executive Officer of the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Michelle Daniel reminded Barbadians 80% of premature deaths due to heart attacks and heart diseases can be prevented by simple things.
World Heart Day is being observed under the theme, Use Heart To Connect.
