Programme aiding youth to be agri-entrepreneurs

October 27, 2023

Several young people are now better equipped with skills to manage their own agricultural businesses.

This could help boost the island’s efforts at food security.

The 18 young people have graduated from Empower Youth International’s Teen Agri-Entrepreneurship Innovators Programme which was funded by the French Embassy.

Director Franz Harewood-Hamblin says the purpose of the programme is to educate and equip the next generation of agri-entrepreneurs with business skills.

It is held annually for teens 12 to 18 years old from various secondary schools.

She gave the participants some advice at the recently held graduation ceremony.
