Road closure

January 12, 2024

Motorists utilising Highway 4 from Constant Roundabout to Salters in St. George are soon in for some major road improvements in the coming days.

According to the Ministry of Transport and Works major road milling works are expected to get underway from this weekend and as a consequence, the road will be closed between 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.

Road users are advised that traffic will be restricted to local access only.

Officials say contractor C.O. Williams Construction Limited, will be milling the 2.5 km road which includes removing existing asphalt in preparation for paving which is scheduled to start effective Monday next week.

Drivers who approach Constant Roundabout heading towards Salters main road will be diverted through Constant or Dash Valley and motorists coming from the Norman Niles Roundabout heading towards Constant will be diverted at Salters.

MTW officials say this Highway 4 project is being done under the recently announced accelerated Mill and Pave Programme.
