One of Barbados’ most iconic businessmen has passed away.
Founder of the C.O. Williams Construction Group, Sir Charles Othneil Williams, who over the years was more affectionately known to Barbadians across generations simply as Cow or Cow Williams, died this evening.
Sir Charles, who has spearheaded numerous major business ventures in Barbados including Millennium Heights, the Port St. Charles Marina in St. Peter and the lush Apes Hill Club property in St. James, to name a few, passed away after battling illness.
His construction company made an indelible mark regionally and extra-regionally over the decades, as a high quality builder of roads and other major buildings and infrastructure.
Born on November 24th, 1932, Sir Charles was knighted in 2000 by the Queen of England for his outstanding contributions to Barbados’ development in construction, dairy farming, horticulture, agriculture and sports.
He leaves to mourn a large family, including his brother, prominent businessman Ralph ‘Bizzy’ Williams
