Barbados and the United Nations are preparing to sign a new agreement as they seek to continue more than five decades of cooperation.
This was revealed by Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office, Senator Dr. Shantal Munro-Knight.
She was speaking on United Nations Day yesterday, as the agency observed its 77th anniversary.
The occasion was commemorated with the lighting of the UN’s multi-country office in blue, a symbol of the UN’s presence and work in Barbados and the eastern Caribbean.
UN Resident Coordinator for Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean, Didier Trebucq, has recommitted to helping countries in the region fight the challenges they are facing.
