The quality of the Caribbean Broadcasting Corporation’s productions and broadcasts are expected to see significant improvements in the short term.
Today, the US Embassy presented Barbados’ sole national broadcaster with a donation of six 27 inch iMac computers, valued at approximately $10,000 US.
During a presentation in Studio A at the CBC, Chairman of the Board Hutson Best said the new computers will enhance the Corporation’s ability to broadcast accurate information in a timely manner.
The US Embassy’s donation comes just a few days ahead of World Press Freedom Day on May 3rd.
The new iMac systems are also expected to enhance CBC’s ability to integrate broadcasts across various television and social media platforms.
While acknowledging the rapidly evolving media landscape, US Ambassador to Barbados Her Excellency Linda Taglialatela believes the press has become even more essential in protecting truth and democracy in recent times.
