The Barbados Light and Power Company is closer to making its more than decade-long quest to generate wind energy a reality.
Director of Asset Management Rohan Seale, says the 10-megawatt farm at Lamberts St. Lucy is now on a fast track and could become bigger.
As for the time frame for the scaled-up wind farm, Mr. Seale says there needs to be a 12-month yield assessment done first.
In relation to other renewable energy, he explains that once 100 megawatts from solar energy is surpassed, the company is considering mitigation measures to prevent spiking and destabilisation of the electricity supply.
