Barbadians have been showing an increasing preference for products and services being offered by the local credit union movement.
That's according to Tracia Sargeant, acting manager at the Barbados Public Workers Co-operative Credit Union's Six Roads branch.
Ms. Sargeant was speaking to CBC during the Credit Union's annual membership day.
Over the past few days, customers visiting branches across the island were serenaded, showered with gifts and even got a chance to sing karaoke.
Ms. Sargeant says when faced with the choice of interest rates being offered by banks and the credit union, it's easy to see what Barbadians prefer.
