Egbert Oswald Griffith, age 92, affectionately known as “Spree or Spreeboy”, of #12 Clinketts, St. Lucy, formerly of Crab Hill, St. Lucy and the U.K, Former postman for Checker Hall and Broomefield, St. Lucy and employee of Royal Mint, U.K, Beloved Husband of Zarena Griffith, Son of the late Luentha Griffith and Joseph Nathaniel Yearwood, Father of Eileen “Ilene” Blades, Lorna Daniel, Mona Griffith-Clarke, Ian and Rudyard “Rudy” Griffith, Adopted father of Emmeline Bannis of the U.K, Zilma Hunte of the U.S.A, Rona Moniz of Switzerland, Grandfather of Christopher and William Bowen, Monique and Marcus Clarke, Tiffany, Sean, Jonathan, Jody, Jordan and Junior Griffith, Marianne Daniel-Obeata and Colette Gough all of the U.K, Great Grandfather of twenty-one, Brother of the late Essie Hinds, Russell Griffith, Oliver “Ollie” Griffith, Ashburn Yearwood of Trinidad, Merton Yearwood of Guyana, Joseph R “Lil Joe” Yearwood and Nellie Broomes, Beloved Uncle of many, Father-in-law of Monica Griffith of the U.K. and the late Chester Carlisle Blades and Calvin Daniel, Brother-in-law of Lorraine Alleyne of the U.K, Relative of the Griffith, Slocombe, Hinds, Broomes, Carrington and Yearwood families.

The funeral of the late Egbert Oswald Griffith leaves Earl’s Funeral Home, Half Moon Fort, St. Lucy, on Friday, September 15th at 12:00 noon for Selah Methodist Church, Crab Hill, St. Lucy where relatives and friends are asked to meet at 2:00 p.m. for the Service of Thanksgiving. The cortege will then proceed to Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Hall, St. Peter for the interment.

The organist and members of the choir are kindly asked to attend.

In lieu of flowers a donation will be collected at the Church for Selah Methodist Church Building Fund.

Bus transportation will be provided from the Church to Mount Pleasant and back to Crab Hill.

Relatives and friends can visit in the chapel of Earl’s Funeral Home, Half Moon Fort, St. Lucy to reflect the memories of Egbert Oswald Griffith from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Floral tributes may be sent to Earl’s Funeral Home no later than 11:30 a.m. on Friday.
