Derrick Alphonzo Garrett, age 53, of Kingsland Gardens, Christ Church, President of the Barbados Amateur Basketball Association, retired Manager of the Employee Benefits of Guardian Life of the Caribbean, Son of Valda Pinder Née Garrett and the late David Pinder, Beloved Husband of Ingrid Garrett, Loving Father of Darren and Derrick Garrett Jr., Brother of Norma Mapp and Denise Holder, Uncle of Talia Mapp, André and Jason Holder, Cousin of Collen Garrett-Boyce, Cynthia, Diana, Patricia and St. Clair Garrett, Charles Marshall, Jerry King and Linda Rimple, Relative of the Garrett, Nurse, Greenidge and Burke families, Friend of many.


The funeral of Derrick Alphonzo Garrett leaves Clyde B. Jones Funeral Home, Top Rock, Christ Church on Friday, September 29th, 2017 at 12:15 p.m. for Christ Church Parish Church, where relatives and friends are asked to meet at 2:00 p.m. for a thanksgiving service. The cortege will then proceed to Frangipani Lawns of Coral Ridge Memorial Gardens, The Ridge, Christ Church for the interment.

Floral tributes may be delivered to Clyde B. Jones Funeral Home no later than 11:15 a.m. on Friday.

The body will repose for viewing at the Gymnasium Limited Garfield Sobers Sports Complex, Wildey, St. Michael from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
