It's the turn of schools in the Frank Blackman Zone to strut their stuff at the 2018 Powerade BSSAC meet.
Thursday is day one of two at the National Stadium.
Meanwhile Wednesday, Christ Church Foundation became the double crown champions of the SOL Esther Maynard Zone.
Competing at the stadium Wednesday, Foundation regained the girls’ title amassing a total of 471.50 points ahead of second place Springer Memorial with 435 and Harrison College third with 284.
In the boys’ Foundation dethroned Harrison College with 411 points, Harrison settled for second with 382.50 while St Leonards Boys rounded off the top three with 267.50.
A number of zone records were broken on both the track and in the field, but the standout performer was Triston Gibbons of Harrison College.
Gibbons, who has already qualified for the Carifta Games and World Juniors, erased his own zone record of 14.77 metres set last year, and the BSSAC record of 17.40 meters set by Dequan Lovell of St George in 2015.
The new record now stands at 18.63 meters.
