Issac to affect island from Wednesday
11 Sep

Tropical Storm Isaac continues to churn westward and is expected to affect Barbados Wednesday.

The Barbados Meteorological Service expects an outer band will bring some scattered showers, isolated thunderstorms and occasional gusty winds.

Isaac is expected to pass about 150 miles north of Barbados on Thursday.

As the system travels westward into the eastern Caribbean Sea, more organized convection trailing Isaac is expected to affect the island, bringing moderate to heavy showers and occasional gusty winds well into Friday.

Sea conditions are also forecast to deteriorate as the system traverses the area with swells of 3.0 to 3.5 meters expected over open water.

Tropical Storm Isaac is located about 770 miles East of Barbados and is currently moving west at 14 miles per hour.

Isaac is expected to take a track that will take it over Dominica...

Deputy Prime Minister Reginald Austrie is urging Dominicans to heed the advice of government and called on businesses to secure their properties.

The island's National Emergency Planning Organisation is to meet today to decide on the action to be taken ahead of Isaac's impact.
