The students of the Challenor School in St. Thomas are a little closer to getting back into their school building following a donation from a regional bank.
The children have been housed temporarily in buildings on the grounds of the 400-year-old building as the original building had deteriorated to the stage where a part of the roof collapsed.
Classes have therefore been conducted from the chapel and the garage on the grounds of the property.
Plans have been put in place to raise funds for the rebuilding and renovations where a number of corporate entities have been asked to help and CIBC First Caribbean confirmed its assistance.
Already, the bank and the centre have been collaborating where items from the Challenor Creative Arts and Training Centre are sold every quarter to employees of the bank.
