Albert Weatherhead has added another achievement to his long list of accolades.

The country's newest centenarian has not only represented Barbados in swimming and water polo, but was also a part of the only West Indian water polo team to make it to the Pan American Games in 1959.

He's also the founder of Barbados' oldest swimming club, the Alpha Sharks swim club.

According to son Dr. Louis Weatherhead, his father is also the oldest surviving Barbadian-Canadian serviceman.

Mr. Weatherhead, who has been inducted twice in to the Barbados Sports Hall of Fame, has three children and six grandchildren.

His son says he remained active up until a few years ago.
