The highly anticipated Guardian Group Herman Griffith Primary Schools semi-final cricket match between defending champions Bayleys Primary and Eden Lodge which was set to be completed Tuesday at Dover, has now been postponed until next Monday at Briar Hall.
Both teams were geared up and ready to compete, but on assessing the pitch, the two coaches felt the conditions were dangerous and not fit for any kind of competition.
Coach of Bayley's, Ronald Greenidge, said although he had the advantage of winning the toss, it wouldn't have been fair to play.
Eden Lodge coach Errol Holder said based on his 30 years’ experience as a groundsman, he immediately concluded that the pitch was not properly prepared.
Coordinator of the competition Adrain Donovan, said a meeting was held between the two coaches, the organisers, sponsors and the umpires, and it was decided that it is in the best interest of cricket to postpone the match to Monday at 10am at the Briah Hall playing field.
