Tridents off to Guyana
05 Sep

In football, the Barbados Tridents are off to Guyana to start their journey in the Concacaf nations league qualifiers, which start on Thursday.

The team departed from the Grantley Adams International airport in high spirits, confident of their task at hand.

The Tridents are carrying a reinforced squad from their last international football friendly, which they lost 2-nil to Cuba at the Wildey Astro Turf.

Included are Captain Rashad Jules and Thierry Gale who are back from Hungary, along with professional footballers Hallam Hope, Krystian Pearce and Keasel Broom who reside in the UK and the US.

Jules, who welcomes the pros to the team, believes the Tridents are ready for the tournament.

Hope, who currently plays for the English football league two club Carlisle United, will be looking to add his attacking flare to boost the Tridents.

Goal keeper Keasel Broom who is currently unattached to a club in the US, has recovered from injury, and he plans on sharing some valuable tips with his team mates.

Assistant technical director of the BFA Michael Foster, believes while the loss to Cuba would have impacted some of the guys, it is now a thing of the past, as Thursday will mark a fresh beginning.
