Attorney General Wilfred Abrahams described the raising of the loan ceiling for trust loans to $20,000 as a leap of faith in Barbadians.
He said the measure, introduced by Finance Minister Ryan Straughn on Monday, is designed to help entrepreneurs get their businesses off the ground.
Mr Abrahams said that with difficult times ahead, the more self-sufficient Barbadians become, the better it will be for the country.
