Barbadians are being urged to produce creative, beautiful home gardens.
They are being encouraged to do so through the Ministry of Environment and National Beautification, Green and Blue Economy’s Parish Home Garden Beatification Competition, scheduled to run from November 25th to December 15th.
The winners of each parish will receive fifteen hundred dollars for having the most beautiful garden.
There will also be prizes of one thousand dollars for second place, and seven hundred and fifty dollars for third places within each parish.
Tree Planting Coordinator with responsibilities for competitions, Delvyn Phillips, says the eleven winners of each parish will then compete for the grand prizes.
Phillips says people are encouraged to participate in the competition, especially since the environment benefits tremendously from gardens.
