Minister of People Empowerment and Elder Affairs, Kirk Humphrey, is urging Barbadians to treat elderly relatives with greater care and responsibility.
His comments came during We Gatherin’ activities in St. Michael this morning.
Speaking to CBC after the ceremony, he focused attention on one of the country’s most vulnerable groups – its elderly citizens.
He said the habit of abandoning the elderly will not be tolerated, noting that caring for older persons is one of the truest reflections of Barbadian values.
