Barbados is pushing hard to win back one of its most valuable tourism markets, Canada.
And Tourism Minister Ian Gooding-Edghill says the momentum is finally shifting.
Giving an update on the state of the industry this morning, the Tourism Minister said new airline activity out of that market is already boosting arrivals.
He revealed that Barbados is now closing in on its historic Canadian arrival record set back in 1979, a benchmark the industry hasn’t touched in more than four decades.
Minister Gooding-Edghill also told industry stakeholders that he’s heading to Canada in the coming weeks for further dialogue to drive even more business from the Canadian market.
But he was tight-lipped about the nature of those talks.
