Adeya Brewster and Mya Rollins both finished outside the medals in the final of the women’s 100-metre hurdles at the 25th Central American and Caribbean Games in Santo Domingo.
Brewster placed fifth in 13.24 seconds, while Rollins finished seventh in 13.69 seconds.
Meanwhile, Kelia Bentham has advanced to the final of the women’s 200 metres.
Running in lane four, Bentham finished second in the second semi-final in 23.20 seconds.
The race was won by Estrella de Aza of the Dominican Republic, who equalled the CAC Games record of 22.69 seconds.
On the men’s side, Aragon Straker finished fifth in the second semi-final of the men’s 200 metres in 21.22 seconds.
Kuron Griffith placed fourth in the third semi-final in 20.67 seconds. Both athletes failed to advance.
In the field, after five rounds, Akelia Jones was sixth in the women’s long jump with a best leap of 5.98 metres.
In table tennis, Tre Riley lost his round-of-32 match in straight games to Venezuela’s Raymundo Medina, 11-7, 11-6, 11-9.
In the mixed doubles, Tyreece Knight and Anthonette Riley were defeated 3-2 by opponents from El Salvador in the round of 16.
In shooting, Tesonna Alleyne finished seventh in the final of the women’s 25-metre pistol.
Three other Barbadian shooters finished outside the top eight in the qualification round of the women’s 10-metre air rifle. Brodella Ramchere placed 14th, Camara Williams was 20th and Calleah Walcott finished 21st.
In women’s 53-kilogramme weightlifting, Chelsea Goodridge placed 10th in the snatch with a best lift of 52 kilograms and lifted 63 kilograms in the clean and jerk.
