A retired police officer says reaching children while they are still in school helps build the foundation for good citizenship.
Retired Sergeant Christopher Griffith says he began the Seven-Hour Community Children’s Programme to mentor young people and instil discipline and positive values from an early age.
He was among fifty awardees from the St. Michael constituency who received the We Gatherin’ 2025 Pride of Barbados Awards.
Mr Griffith was recognised for his years of service and dedication to community development.
He says the award came as a surprise since his efforts have always been motivated by love for his community, not recognition.
