Minister of People Empowerment and Elder Affairs, Kirk Humphrey, has described domestic violence as a national emergency.
Speaking at the closing of a regional symposium to advance state responses on domestic violence, Minister Humphrey said too many victims continue to fall through the cracks.
He noted that laws alone are not enough, and called on police officers, teachers, and community leaders to take reports seriously and act swiftly.
