Top Barbadian golfer Emily Odwin has made history again, becoming the first Barbadian to compete at the prestigious Augusta National Women’s Amateur.
The annual tournament, held at the iconic Augusta National Golf Club, features many of the world’s top amateur female golfers and is one of the most significant events in women’s golf.
Odwin, who previously became the first Bajan to play in a golf major by qualifying for last year’s U.S. Women’s Open Championship, carded a two-under-par 70 in her opening round. Her strong start ties her for 15th place alongside seven other competitors.
She will tee off for the second round tomorrow at 10:10 a.m. Barbados time.
