Gender-based violence remains the most common human-rights violation globally.
It affects one in three women worldwide, and one in two women in the Caribbean.
That’s according to Ambassador to Barbados, the Eastern Caribbean States, the OECS, CARICOM and CARIFORUM, Her Excellency Fiona Ramsey.
She says this year they’re shining the spotlight on the digital space to raise awareness about cyberstalking, deep fakes and online abuse, which are far more difficult to regulate.
Ambassador Ramsey was speaking at the start of 16 Days of Activism to End Gender-Based Violence.
