Government is embarking on a massive clean-up across communities for the approaching Christmas holidays.
The announcement is coming from Minister of Environment and National Beautification, Green and Blue Economy, Adrian Forde.
He says this clean-up effort is a continuation of the national clean-up programme being undertaken by his ministry.
Minister Forde was speaking at the launch of the National Parish Home Garden Competition, where he also revealed scores of bags of garbage are being removed from gullies.
The Ministry is also moving full steam ahead with its derelict houses and vehicles clean-up programme.
Minister Forde says there is a target to remove 250 derelict vehicles from areas across the country per week.
He is further advising Barbadians to do what they need to do to keep the country clean and tidy.
