Three thousand dollars in prize money will be up for stake in the 2025 edition of the Charles Walcott Foundation Joseph Payne Memorial Secondary Schools Field Events Circuit.
Backed once again by Pharmacy Sales Caribbean Inc., the series, which was launched at the Barbados Olympic Centre in Wildey, gets going on December 10th at the Coleridge and Parry School.
Twenty-eight events are on the schedule for the opening series, including a shot putt challenge.
Chairman of the foundation Charles Walcott says the circuit will help to unearth new talent, and the aim is to surpass last year’s entries of 215 athletes.
The circuit has been established at five secondary schools: Christ Church Foundation, The St. Michael School, Queens College, St. George Secondary, and Coleridge and Parry School.
General Manager of the Barbados Olympic Association, Gylne Clarke, says the series fulfils a number of the BOA’s mandates.
