The long-awaited 10-million-dollar state-of-the-art linear accelerator is now operational at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, marking a major step forward in cancer care in Barbados.
With the new system in place, cancer patients will no longer need to travel overseas for critical care, as they will be able to receive essential treatment at home.
