Barbadians are being urged to take precautions to protect themselves from influenza and other respiratory illnesses during the election season.
In recent weeks, the island has seen a surge in cases of flu and flu-like illnesses, putting pressure on the Queen Elizabeth Hospital’s Accident and Emergency Department, which is operating under extreme strain.
The call comes from Minister of Health and Wellness and Barbados Labour Party campaign manager, Dr. Jerome Walcott.
He issued the advice at the National Housing Corporation, where the BLP’s thirty candidates were paying their deposits.
