The rationale behind Government’s move to become a member of the Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean was underscored in the Upper House of Parliament today.
It came during the second reading of the Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean Bill, 2025.
Senator Dr. Shantal Munro-Knight, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office, pointed out that membership will provide Government with additional fiscal space in the event of an emergency.
Dr. Munro-Knight further explained how the bank will assist Barbados.
