Barbados are off to a shaky start at the Rugby Americas North Sevens Tournament in Trinidad and Tobago.
On today’s opening day at the Larry Gomes Stadium, Barbados men were hammered 45-0 by Canada, then Bermuda women outplayed Barbados women 22-5.
In the 2nd men’s match, Barbados had the advantage over Mexico 7-6 in the first half, but Mexico bounced back to win 19-7.
Before their departure from the Grantley Adams International Airport last night for the three-day tournament, team manager Michelle Amos told CBC Sports the 24-member contingent has been well prepared.
