The United Nations Development Programme says the Caribbean has moved from diagnosing justice system problems to delivering real reform.
Speaking at the PACE Justice Roundtable in Barbados, UNDP Resident Representative Limya Eltayeb pointed to progress in legislative reform, policing, the digitisation of courts and regional capacity building.
She stressed that justice reform has a direct impact on citizens’ lives, warning that delays in the justice system cost people both time and safety.
She said it is not just about clearing backlogs.
