There is still an urgent need for Barbadians to contribute to disaster relief efforts for Jamaica, Cuba, and Haiti, which were dealt severe blows by Hurricane Melissa last month.
Barbados’ Ambassador to CARICOM, David Comissiong, is urging Barbadians and those in the diaspora to stand in solidarity with their CARICOM neighbours.
He says the hurricane-hit islands need as much help as possible to get back on their feet.
Ambassador Comissiong says the Cuban authorities have made a special appeal for dry goods like powdered milk, wheat flour, rice, and beans.
