Barbados ranks 7th in captive insurance jurisdictions globally

Barbados is the third captive insurance jurisdiction in the region and seventh in the world.

This from Chief Executive Officer of the Financial Services Commission Warrick Ward as he addressed the Barbados International Business Association (BIBA) Conference Wednesday, to introduce the upcoming fifth Barbados Risk and Insurance Management Conference to be held in on the island next month.

In a wide-ranging speech, the CEO said the insurance sector continues to grow and the FSC is patently aware that they must evolve to meet the demands of the stakeholders and has advised on proposed Amendments to the Insurance Act.
