Chairman of the Barbados Small Business Association, Charles Carter, is calling for greater unity among the island’s small businesses.
He made the appeal on Sunday morning during a church service marking the start of Small Business Week.
Mr Carter noted that while technological advances have made it easier than ever to connect with people, many are still experiencing a sense of isolation.
He says greater collaboration among small businesses can help strengthen the sector and enhance its contribution to Barbados’ economy.
This year’s Small Business Week is being held under the theme, “Beyond borders: positioning small business for the global economy”.
Mr Carter says the 23rd edition will highlight the importance of unity while celebrating businesses and entrepreneurs that have performed well.
He says the week will also create opportunities for education and meaningful discussions aimed at strengthening the sector.
